Fj Communications designed and implemented the communications and media programme in order to support on all levels before, during, and after the event, including development of materials, media calling, registration, on-site assistance, interview coordination, and follow-ups. FJ Communications also negotiated an exclusive media partnership with the leading influential editorial group PRISA.
CHALLENGE
FJ Communications was selected in 2009, for the fourth consecutive year, by The Economist Conferences to run the media and communications programme around the 21st Business Roundtable with the Government of Spain. The event took place on 23rd November at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid. The main goal of this event was to raise awareness about The Economist and Economist Conferences as a high-profile global leader in the organization of influential conferences.
PLAN
FJ Communications was in charge of setting up the agenda in coordination with the Spanish Government's external relations team. We also designed and implemented the communications and media programme in order to support on all levels before, during, and after the event, including development of materials, media calling, registration, on-site assistance, interview coordination, and follow-ups. FJ Communications also negotiated an exclusive media partnership with the leading influential editorial group PRISA.
RESULTS
A total of 356 articles (printed and online) metioning Economist Conferences or The Economist as the organiser of the Business Roundtable were registered during the first month after the roundtable. Forty-six media outlets attended the event during the programme. In terms of participation, more than 120 influential leaders and business executives from Spain and greater Europe attended the event; the high calibre presenters included Spanish Prime Minister Javier Rodriguez Zapatero and opposition leader Mariano Rajoy.
